Empik is not an ordinary store. It is, first of all, an institution that significantly contributes to shaping of the cultural image of Poland. Our mission is to propagate culture. That is why our company is actively engaged in the cultural life of Poland. Empik supports talented young artists looking for new forms of expression, it is a partner of important cultural institutions such as the National Museum, the National Gallery of Art Zachęta, Modern Art Centre and the Royal Castle in Warsaw. It is also a media sponsor of many interesting and ambitious projects (in the field of high culture): Easter Festival of Ludwig van Beethoven, Era of Jazz, Planet Doc Review, Era New Horizons Festival, Camerimage or Warsaw Fall. And it supports so-called popular culture as well – many concerts and festivals.
Empik stores are places where you can meet your favourite artist face to face thanks to many different events (meetings with authors, thematic conferences, film screenings, concerts of young, promising musicians and well-known stars, art exhibitions and many others).
Empik discovers the most interesting cultural events for you and presents them in a biweekly magazine “Volume of Culture” (which contains exclusive journalistic materials) and the unique cultural web service “empikultura” (“empiculture”) at empik.com
Empik organises a competition “Bestsellers” (earlier known as “Aces of Empik”) - the largest cultural enterprise of this type in Poland. Each year the winners are chosen by empik’s clients who “vote” by buying all different entertainment or culture products in empik stores or online via empik.com.
